A small village near to choozhal, the main attraction is the Choozhal-Piracode Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, the temple celebrate its annual festival during the month of February - March, known as Kumbha Rohini Mahotsavam. In the earlys the name of the village is known as Shankurutty. After a period name of the village got its name as Krishnapuram originated from the name of the Lord Sree Krishna. Krishnapuram situated just 4 Kms from Parassala Kerala and 6 Kms from Kaliyakkavilai Tamilnadu. Well connected with bus, rail and air. Nearest Railway Station, Thiruvanthapuram situated 40 Kms (Approximate) and Nagercoil with a distance of 50 Kms (Approximate). IT Coordinates: 8°19'9"N 77°7'43"E in wikimapia.india. There is also a Bhadrakali Temple situated in Piracode, opposite to Krishanpuram famous for Iratta Ponkala. Major Somasekharan Nair (Indian Army Officer) the first Army Officer from the village is well known among villagers.
